When a young girl was killed in East Austin in 1995, the community demanded a safe haven for kids. Several youth leaders envisioned a place exciting enough to "draw kids in, make them want to get in off the streets."
Heimsath Architects helped community leaders plan the proposed projects, turning several rough ideas into a comprehensive program. The firm was then hired to design the project as part of an innovative public/private partnership. The dramatic design features a skating rink, movie theater, bowling alley and food court.
