Senior Designer and Founder

Clovis Heimsath, FAIA  1930 - 2021

I'm sad to share the news that Clovis Heimsath, founder of Heimsath Architects died on Sunday morning, October 10, 2021.

Clovis started with his first project in 1959. Clovis and Maryann Heimsath, my parents, continued to contribute to the firm until late in their careers.  As a designer, painter, preservationist, and community visionary, Clovis maintained a child-like fascination with all aspects of architecture and design.

Clovis' spirit lives on in the firm and in all of us who were blessed to have known and worked with him during his long and productive career.  A memorial to celebrate his life will be scheduled at a later date.

- Ben Heimsath

Clovis studied architecture at the University of Texas and completed his degree with a Master of Architecture from Yale. Clovis spent a year on a Fulbright Scholarship studying at the University of Rome. He was admitted into the College of Fellows for his contributions to research in practice.
