Calvary Episcopal School in Bastrop, Texas celebrated the end of 2020 with a dedication service on its new 20 acre site.  The land is a generous donation from the Philipp family located on Hwy 304 south of Bastrop.  Heimsath Architects has worked closely with the Calvary School over the past year developing a campus master plan for the property.

On a wintry day, Father Matt welcomed visitors to a sheltered area near a stand of oak trees.  He thanked everyone for coming and thanked the Philipp family for their donation.  He noted that there isn't a specific prayer to dedicate land, but, "...to dedicate something is to do what you intend to do there."

Father Matt went on to explain:  "So today we are going to pray and we're going to hear scripture.  This will be a place of worship foremost.  It will also be a place of learning..."

Board President, Lisa Chavez and Head of School, Catherine Bohot thanked the Philipp family.  Catherine shared her thoughts:  "Calvary would not be in a place where we could even consider growing without this amazing gift..."

Leonard Philipp spoke of his vision for the property:  "This has always been my dream since I first got on the property, to see something like this develop.... I want all these kids to enjoy it....(and) to grow from it."
