The day was perfect for the recent groundbreaking at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Braunfels. Sunshine greeted congregation members as shortly after the early service, they gathered in the courtyard to celebrate. Congregation president, Fred Terry greeted the members and Pastor Paul opened with a prayer. Committee Chair, Liz Doss recognized members of her committee and thanked everyone for the their hard work and devotion.
Soon to get underway, the work consists of a new elevator and stair addition, an expanded gathering area, relocated offices, and renovations to the old stone chapel. A new façade will upgrade the image from San Antonio Street and a new entry pavilion and covered walkway will improve circulation and accessibility. Significant repairs are included to provide a replacement roof for the gym and education building, improve site drainage, and to address lingering structural issues.
The construction cost is approximately $2.5 million. T & F Construction of New Braunfels is the general contractor.
